Graduation & Commencement

Went to my first Graduation & Commencement ceremony today.

(9-10min long)

I was one of the "commencing students". We all sat next to each other, got called by name, stood up then were prayed for. :)

Then came the stars of the show: IBI Graduation Class 2009. :D

It was very encouraging considering that most of the graduates who were present have been studying for years and years before getting their final degree. Some of the stories I heard were real and powerful testimonies of God's goodness to them. God is indeed very very good.

Side note: I also look forward to one day wearing a gown and hat too (French unis don't do gowns or hats, what a shame... robbed me of that glorious moment.)

Bishop Ken Clarke was our speaker and spoke on John 21, the bit when Jesus quizzes Peter about whether or not he (Peter) loves him (Jesus).

I suppose it's where it has to start, doesn't it? Do I love him? Am I living out the gospel in every area of my life? not just on a Sunday or at a Christian gathering, grad ceremony or whatever.
Do I love Jesus? Am I more interested in bringing him the glory or am I working harder at making a name for myself?

My God has been so good to me in getting me here and surrounding with a crew of such passionate teachers and classmates. He has also been faithfully providing for my needs, little by little, teaching me lots in the process about Himself and confirming that this is the way in which I should walk. I have so much joy and peace. :)

very... immensely... infinitely... GOOD.

He is. :)

- first assignment due in two weeks, "Principles of Prayer," so it is called. (1000words)
- draft is due next Monday (Oct 5th) and I'm a little behind already. I'm such a slacker.

It is only the "commencement" of a long and exciting journey indeed.

Please pray that He remains my motivation for everything!
